Description
A terrace of six cottages located in Worth Matravers village, dating from the late 18th to early 19th century. The cottages are built of rubble stone with stone slate roofs. Number 1 has two storeys, featuring a part-glazed front door and two horizontally sliding sash windows on the ground floor with glazing bars. The first floor has two casement windows also with horizontal glazing bars. A two-storey and attic rear extension, constructed in matching materials, was added in the 20th century. Number 2 has a brick stack and a part-glazed door. It features two sash windows with vertical glazing bars on both the ground and first floors, and a single-storey rear lean-to.
Numbers 3 and 4, also of two storeys and attic level, have a flush door to Number 3 and a panelled door to Number 4. Each has one casement window with glazing bars on both the ground and first floors. The attics each have a flat-roofed dormer with casement windows and glazing bars. Number 4 includes a gabled rear wing featuring a large stone stack. Numbers 5 and 6 share a brick stack and a shared panelled entrance door. Number 5 has three casement windows with glazing bars under projecting stone lintels on the ground floor, and two matching windows without lintels on the first floor. Number 6 has two casement windows with glazing bars on both its ground and first floors.
