Description
Cross Cottage is a detached cottage, likely built in the 18th century, with some alterations from the 19th century. It features rubble stone construction, with some brick and flint, and has a half-hipped thatched roof with brick stacks. The cottage is a single storey with an attic and has three windows. There is a half-glazed door on the left, with four two-light casements and one one-light casement to the right. The dormers include three two-light casements. The left side has both two-light and one-light casements, indicating a raised roof. At the rear, there is a 19th-century two-storey porch with a central planked door, an outshut to the right with two-light casements, and a lean-to extension to the left. The interior was not accessible during the survey in February 1985. It is possible that the cottage was originally a pair of semi-detached cottages.
