Description

The Alvediston War Memorial is a 4-meter high structure located within a small enclosure defined by a yew hedge, positioned on the roadside behind a low iron fence. The memorial features a wheel-head cross made of Chilmark stone, which is set on a square plinth and a two-stepped base. The plinth is inscribed with "IN MEMORY OF THE GREAT WAR 1914-1919," and the front face of the step below lists the names of seven individuals who served. Additionally, the names of three men who fell during the Second World War are inscribed on the front face of the cross-shaft.

To protect the memorial from the road, there are two timber posts in the verge, although these posts are not of special interest.
