Description
Nos. 33 and 34 are two semi-detached cottages located in Higher Barton, dating from the mid-17th century with later changes to the windows. The cottages feature rubble-stone walls and a thatched roof, which is hipped on the left side and gabled on the right. There are 19th-century brick chimney stacks at the ridge on the left end and at the right gable. The buildings are two storeys tall and have three windows, which are three-light wood casements with cambered brick arches above the ground floor windows. The front door of No. 33 is located on the end wall and is a plank door with one glazed light, dating from the 19th century. The front door of No. 34 is situated on the front wall, to the right of centre, and is also a plank door with one glazed light, from the 19th century. Inside, No. 34 features deep-chamfered ceiling beams with stepped stops.
