Description
No. 45 Rigg Lane is a cottage, originally part of Flambert Cottages, dating from the mid-18th century. It features rubble-stone and cob walls that are rendered, topped with a thatch roof that has a gable end on the right side. The building is two storeys high and has three windows on the front, which are three-light wood casements with glazing bars and wood lintels. The original openings have been fitted with 20th-century replacements. There is also a four-light casement window on the left side at ground level. The first floor has a central door that is plank and studded, also from the 20th century. A thatch porch canopy supported by two wood posts extends over the entrance. At the south end of the cottage, there is a 20th-century extension that is not considered of special interest.
