Description

This is a late 18th-century to early to mid-19th-century front of a house, originally known as Thorn Bank. It has a roughcast front with three bays, and the window arrangement is irregular. A stone cornice tops the building, followed by a parapet. The sash windows have lost their glazing bars. The lower windows are wider and feature stone architraves and keystones. A stone doorway is topped with pilasters and an entablature, leading to a six-panelled door and a rectangular fanlight with rectangular tracery.

A cement-rendered addition on the right side has a gabled roof covered in plain tiles. It includes two square modern sash windows above, and a larger sash window with a stone architrave and keystone below. Another doorway with a similar frame leads to a six-panelled door and a rectangular fanlight.

The property is situated within a group that includes Cromwell, Belmont, Wistaria House, and Little Thornbank, alongside dwarf walls and railings pertaining to the Congregational Chapel, its schoolroom, and associated features.
