Description
The dwarf wall, gates, overthrow, and railings to the Congregational Chapel date from 1816. The structure features a stone dwarf wall with railings that have uprights topped with spear-headed finials. The gates are flanked by square fluted standards, each topped with urn finials. The double gates have uprights that are set in an inverted curve and also feature spear-headed finials. Above the gates is a curved flat overthrow with inset scroll panelling and square lamp brackets. The ironwork is attributed to R Sprak(?)er of Bridport. This site is part of a group that includes the Congregational Chapel, a school room to the south, Cromwell, Belmont, Wistaria House, and additional dwarf walls and railings at Thorn Bank.
