Description
The Fish House, located to the north of No. 31 in Easton Square, is a warehouse or fish house dating from the early to mid 19th century. It is constructed of rubble with well-dressed quoins and features a slate roof. The building is situated behind No. 31 and can be accessed via a short alley from Easton Square.
This small, two-storey rectangular structure has a plank door leading to the loft, situated above a 12-pane sash window, with a plank door to the right. The right gable includes an opening at mid-height, and there is a stone stack with a flat capping on the left side. The Fish House is a modest but unchanged auxiliary building, and few similar structures remain on the island. It is locally known as the fish house, and while the stack may indicate a smoking chamber, the interior is not accessible.
