Description
The Fish Cellar and Net Loft is a building located on the foreshore in Clovelly, likely dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed from coursed rubble and features a lean-to roof made of corrugated zinc sheeting, which replaces the original pitched roof. The building has a square plan, with the fish cellar located below and the net lofts above.
The exterior consists of three storeys, with three windows at the first-floor level. The ground floor has two simple 19th-century two-light casements with lapped panes, while the first floor features three 19th-century casements. The second floor has two recessed six-pane casements. There is a central door opening with a plank door set in a wooden frame. On the left side, there are two doorways with plank doors, one of which has three stone steps leading up. The ground rises at the rear, where there is a doorway at the second-floor level with paired plank doors. Inside, the original floors remain intact.
