Description
No 48, also known as Cobweb Cottage, is a 19th-century cottage that was repaired in the early 20th century by Christine Hamlyn. It is constructed of rubble and is white-washed with a slate roof and gable ends. The cottage is attached to the left end of the Red Lion Inn. It has a simple layout with one principal reception room. The exterior features two storeys and a basement, with two windows that are 19th or early 20th-century, consisting of 2-light casements with 12 panes. There is a door opening to the left, which is a plank door from the same period, and it has a lean-to slated pent hood. The basement entrance is accessed through a cambered head opening with a plank door. The front door is reached by a flight of stone steps. The interior has not been inspected.
