Description

The former limekiln and archway on the foreshore in Clovelly dates from the 19th century. It features a curving rubble wall at the front. To the left, there is a small low door opening with a wooden gate added in the 20th century, which has a cambered head with brick dressings. To the right, there is a large opening with a pointed arch that has paired 20th-century wooden gates. The interior of the kiln is circular and lined with brick, remaining open at the top. Additionally, the inside of the left door opening includes a brick-lined blow-hole opening.
