Description

This is a pair of attached cottages, numbers 91 to 97, located on Fordington High Street, dating from the mid-19th century. The cottages are rendered, with ashlar stone detailing. They have double-pitched pantile roofs, with plain tiles on numbers 95 and 97, and bargeboarded gable ends. Brick stacks are topped with cornicing. The cottages are arranged over one storey and with attics. Each pair features two 2-light casement windows on the ground floor, with cusped arches in each light and a 4-centred relieving arch above, incorporating a quatrefoil in the spandrels. The attic storeys contain two paired casement windows on the first floor, featuring round arches to each light, set within oblong panels with chamfered edges. Doors are located on the side elevations and are sheltered by gabled porches supported on wooden brackets.
