Description
This building is a barn located between Nos 5 and 6 on Little Britain, likely dating from the 17th century, with the northern section possibly added in the 18th or early 19th century. It is constructed of coursed Ridgeway rubble, with red brick dressings on the northern part. The barn features a pitched corrugated iron roof that conceals thatch underneath. There is a red brick barn porch on the west side. The southern section has various slits, two planked stable doors with loft doors above, and one large rubble buttress. The northern part includes one red brick buttress. The Royal Commission on Historical Monuments suggests that the barn may have been associated with the Churchill family, whose house was located in that area of Fordington known as Britain.
