10/142 Gateway approximately 220 m south of Bingham's Melcombe House

Park entrance gateway, late C18. 2 piers flanking main gateway with smaller outer piers forming pedestrian entrances. Purbeck ashlar, rusticated. Moulded bases and cornices. Inner piers surmounted by carved eagles, outer piers by pineapple finials. Probably late C19 iron gates. RCHM, Dorset, vol III, p 168, no 2.
