Description
This is a park entrance gateway located approximately 220 meters south of Bingham's Melcombe House, dating from the late 18th century. It features two main piers that flank the central gateway, with smaller outer piers that create pedestrian entrances. The structure is made of rusticated Purbeck ashlar and includes moulded bases and cornices. The inner piers are topped with carved eagles, while the outer piers have pineapple finials. The gateway is likely fitted with iron gates from the late 19th century.
