Description
Nos. 421, 422, and 423 on Church Road are three attached cottages dating from the late 18th century. They feature coursed rubble-stone walls and pantile roofs, with brick stacks located at the left end, the ridge center, and the right gable. The cottages are two storeys high and have a total of four windows, which are 2 and 3-light 19th-century wood casements with glazing bars, along with wood cills and lintels.
For No. 421, there is a central plank door within a wood frame. No. 422 has a plank door positioned to the right of center, accompanied by weatherboarding and a wood frame, also from the 19th century. No. 423 has rendered rubble walls and a thatched roof with gable ends, featuring brick stacks at the gable ends. This cottage has three windows, which are 2-light 19th-century wood casements with glazing bars, and a central plank front door with a wood frame, dating from the 19th century as well. An attached extension at the left end of the row is noted as not being of special interest.
