Description
Three unidentified monuments are located south of the Church of St Mary Magdalene in Thornford. These are three table-tombs made of stone.
The first tomb, dating from the early 17th century, is situated 4 metres south of the south porch. It features two panels on each side with modillion-moulded surrounds and a running scroll motif. It has a heavy-moulded cornice and a hipped top block, but the inscription is illegible.
The second tomb is found one metre south of the nave and is from the 17th century. It has two panels on the north side with ovolo-moulded surrounds, a cyma-moulded cornice, and a hipped top block. The inscription here is also illegible.
The third tomb, dating from the late 17th century, is located four metres south of the chancel. It has plain sides, a chamfered cornice, and a flat top block.
