Description
Higher Farmhouse is an attached farmhouse dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. The building features rendered rubble-stone walls and a slate roof with stone gable-coping on the left side. There is a brick stack located on the ridge, slightly to the right of the center. The farmhouse is two storeys high and has three windows on the ground floor, which are Yorkshire sliding-sashes with glazing-bars and flush frames from the 19th century. The first floor has three-light wooden casements with glazing-bars and wooden cills. The entrance, located to the right of center, consists of a plank door with weatherboarding and a solid oak frame, also from the 19th century. Additionally, there are attached front iron railings and an iron gateway set on a low stone sleeper wall, both dating from the 19th century.
