Description
The Grey Cottage is an attached cottage that was formerly two separate cottages. It dates from the late 17th century and has undergone some changes to its windows over time. The walls are made of coursed rubble stone, and it has a thatched roof with gable ends. There are brick stacks located at the right-hand gable and along the ridge, which is positioned to the right of center. The cottage is two stories high and features three windows: two are 2-light wood casements and one is a 3-light wood casement. The first-floor windows are from the 18th century, while the ground-floor windows date from the 19th century and include glazing bars. The wood cills and lintels are original, and the front door, which is made of planks, is located to the left of center and dates from the 19th century. There is also a more recent entrance at the rear in a later outshut, which has a 20th-century plank door.
