Description

Glebe Cottage is an early 18th-century detached cottage located on the east side of Church Road in Thornford. It is constructed of rubble-stone walls with a thatched roof featuring gable ends and stone gable-copings. Brick stacks are positioned at the gable ends. The cottage is 1½ storeys high and has two windows. The ground-floor windows are 3-light wood casements with glazing-bars; the upper window is a 2-light casement. All windows have wood cills and lintels. Eyebrow dormers are present in the roof. A plank door, with flush panels and two lights at the top, is centrally located and dates to the 19th century. A porch at the centre has ornamental trelliswork and a thatched canopy.
