Description

Three monuments in the churchyard, located 15 metres south-east of the chancel of the Church of St Mary, are table-tombs dating from the 17th and 18th centuries. The first monument has plain stone sides and ends, a moulded cornice, and a flat top block, with an illegible inscription dated 1632. The second monument also features plain stone sides and ends, a moulded cornice, and a flat top block, dedicated to Richard Hanleigh of Batcombe, who died in 1699. The third monument has two ovolo-moulded panels on each side, a hipped top block, and a moulded cornice, with an illegible inscription dated 1769.
