Description

Jubilee House is a block of almshouses dated 1677 and restored in 1977. It features rubble stone walls and a stone slate roof, with one brick stack at the right end, one in the center, and one near the left end. The building is one storey with an attic. At the left end, a former single-storey outbuilding was raised to the main level and incorporated into the main building during the restoration. In the center of the original building, a flight of stone steps leads up to a ledged door at first floor level. On the ground floor, there are two double-width door openings, originally for paired doors but now infilled with windows designed as fixed doors. Additionally, there are seven casement windows with a center horizontal glazing bar. The attic includes three hipped half-dormers, one with a ledged door and three with casements featuring horizontal glazing bars. There are also 20th-century extensions at the rear, constructed to match the original building.
