Description
Spinning Dale is a cottage located in a terrace on East Street in Corfe Castle, likely dating from the early 17th century. It features rubble stone walls and a thatched roof, with a brick stack positioned at the right end. The building is one storey high with an attic. The front has a 20th-century oak ledged door set beneath a brick arch. On the ground floor, there are three casement windows, all located under brick arches, including one that was part of a former doorway. The attic contains two half-dormers; one has casements while the other features horizontally sliding sashes, both equipped with glazing bars. The cottage may have originated as an open-hall structure, with the dormers likely being later additions.
