7/51 Methodist Chapel and Schoolroom 16-8-60 II

Chapel and schoolroom. Chapel dated 1831 (in enlargement of a building of 1797). Schoolroom dated 1874. Chapel of ashlar and rubble, schoolroom of Flemish band brick with rusticated ashlar quoins. Tiled roofs. Main facade to north. Chapel has 2 round-headed, sash windows with glazing-bars flanking a central late C19 porch within which is a plain plank door. Gable of schoolroom faces north. It contains a 3 light, pointed-head, traceried window with a quatrefoil head. (RCHM, Dorset, Vol IV, p 23, no 2)
