Description
The Methodist Chapel in Davidstow is a free Methodist chapel and school room, originally built in 1838 and later extended with a schoolroom in the mid to late 19th century. The building is constructed of stone rubble and is rendered on the southwest elevation, topped with a slate roof featuring gable ends.
The chapel is located to the southeast and has a rectangular plan with its entrance in the southeast gable end. This entrance features a 2-centred arched opening, a 19th-century panelled door, and a fanlight above with 19th-century intersecting glazing bars. The outer arch is made of dressed stone. The southwest elevation facing the road displays a regular window arrangement with three windows on each side, where the chapel is on the right and the school room on the left. The school room has three late 19th-century sash windows, while the chapel has three mid-19th-century sash windows, all set in 2-centred arched openings with intersecting glazing bars. The interiors have not been inspected.
