Description

Chelwood House is a 17th-century cottage with alterations from the 18th century. The building is constructed of rubble and has a hipped thatched roof, with a brick stack to the right. Originally a two-window range, the upper floor features casements with leaded lights, while the ground floor has casements with horizontal glazing-bars. A part-glazed door is centrally positioned in the original range. A later extension exists to the right of the original cottage. Internal features include stop-chamfered spine beams with run-out stops and an open fireplace. The building is of group value.
