Description
The United Reformed Chapel, built in 1794 and extended in 1859, is a chapel located on Chapel Street in Duxford. It features a timber-framed and roughcast exterior, with 19th-century gault brick elements. The roof is a combination of plain tiles and ridge pantiles, designed with both hipped and gabled sections. The building is a single storey with a gallery, and includes a school room and vestry.
The entrance facade is gabled and has rusticated brick quoins, divided into three equal bays. The entrance features double panelled doors that are shaped to fit a round triple-recessed arch. The windows are set in round-headed recessed brick panels, including two ground floor twelve-paned hung sash windows with stone cills, and three large round-headed hung sash windows in the gallery. The interior dates from the 19th century.
