Description

The John Barleycorn Inn is an inn dating from the late 16th century, with 17th century and later alterations, including a date of 1660 on the gable of a dormer window. The building is timber-framed and plastered, topped with a thatched half hipped roof. It features a tall red brick ridge stack with joined diagonal shafts, and a 18th century end stack on the left side. The inn has one storey and an attic, with two boarded doors, two horizontal sliding sash windows, one casement window, and one casement dormer window. Inside, there are exposed chamfered ceiling beams with leaf stops.
