Description
Deverel Mill House and Mill is a former mill house with an attached mill building, built in 1781, with an extension to the north likely added in the early 19th century. The original house features plastered cob walls, while the northern extension has flint and brick banding. The building has a low-pitched slate roof and a brick stack at the junction of the two structures. It is two storeys high and includes a 20th-century brick gabled porch with a part-glazed door, along with a ledged door in the later section. Each floor has five casement windows with glazing bars. One room on the ground floor contains a large open fireplace with a timber lintel and an exposed ceiling beam. The mill, located at the right end, has brick walls and a slate roof, also two storeys tall with the ground floor at a high level. It features an open porch with steps leading up to a ledged door, one fixed window with glazing bars on the ground floor, and a cast iron casement window with bordered glazing on the first floor. There are few remnants of machinery present.
