Description
Staddlestones is a house that was formerly a farmhouse, dating from the mid-17th century. A south-west wing and an outbuilding were added in the late 18th century. The building features plastered cob walls and a hipped thatched roof, with a brick stack located on the ridge south of the center. It has two storeys in some parts and one storey with an attic in others.
At the front, there is a projecting single-storey wing, also from the 17th century, which likely served as a former dairy. This wing has two casement windows with a central glazing bar. To the right in the main range, there is a ledged door accessed by steps, flanked by narrow sidelights. Above this door, there is a dormer with casements. On the left side of the wing, the ground floor features one casement window with glazing bars, while the first floor has another casement window with a central glazing bar and a blocked mullioned window. A 20th-century conservatory is located at the left end of the building.
Inside, there are some open fireplaces and exposed ceiling beams.
