TOLLER FRATRUM SY 59 NE - 2/128 Lower Dairy House

GV II

Dairy House. C16 core, with early C17 ceiling, and later refenestration and repairs. Rubble-stone and chalk-block walls, with some C20 brick filling to front wall. Slate roof, above original pitch, with gable ends. Brick stack at right hand gable. 1½-2 storeys. 3 windows, mixture of 2- and 3-light wooden casements with glazing-bars, centre upper with rectangular leaded lights. Front door at centre, plank with 8 glazed lights in upper half, C20.

Interior: Roof has 4 jointed-cruck trusses intact, never gable-trusses, with through-purlins. Ground floor has heavy-chamfered ceiling-beams with stepped stops. Large C17 open fireplace with brick jambs, heavy-chamfered bressumer and broad-oven in left jamb. Flagstone flooring. Chalk-block walls, internally.
