Farmhouse. C17. Rubble walls with some blue lias quoins. Thatch roof with gable ends. 2 brick stacks, one at each gable. Rear wing, perhaps original, creating an L-plan. South elevation: 1½ storeys. 3 windows, 3 and 4-light casements (wooden) with same lintels and cills. Front door at centre, leading into cross-passage, plank. C20 porch with concrete tile roof. Tablet over right hand ground floor window: "King Charles II stayed here September 22 1651. Erected March 31 1902". Interior: slight-chamfered ceiling beams with run-out stops. Open fireplace with wide segmental wooden lintel. Half-spiral staircase, within the thickness of the rear wall. "RCHM Dorset I", p 267 (12).
