Description
The Bartlett Monument is a chest tomb located approximately 1.5 meters west of the porch to the Church of St Nicholas in Broadwey, Weymouth. It was created in 1810 for Ann, the wife of Henry Bartlett, who passed away that same year. The monument is made of Portland stone and features a simple Regency design. It has a flat ledger slab with a reeded edge, paired panels on the long sides, and single panels on the ends, separated by raised reeded pilasters. The base of the tomb is no longer visible. The main inscription can be found on the left panel on the south side, while the right panel includes a finely carved tribute to the deceased. There is also an inscription on the west end.
