Description

Priory House is a building dating from 1615, located on Church Lane. The house faces north and features an early 19th-century front, while the structure to the south may be older. The north front has two storeys and three window bays, topped with a tiled gabled roof and flanked by stacks. There is a small moulded eaves cornice and the front is made of ashlar. The windows are three panes wide and set in reveals. On the right side, there is a four flush panelled door in reveals, topped with a small rectangular fanlight. A 19th-century gas lamp is attached to the house to the left of the doorway. To the east, adjoining No 8, is a single-storey range set slightly back. This range has a tiled roof, one three-light sash window at the right end, and two pairs of double wooden boarded doors at the left end. In between these doors is a four flush panelled door with the top panels cut away and glazed. Priory House, along with Nos 2 to 8 (even), the dwarf wall, railings, and gate piers, forms a group.
