Description
Flour Mill House is a house that was formerly a mill house, dating from the 18th century and appearing to be built in two phases. The building features brick walls topped with a dentil cornice at the eaves and has a tiled roof. It has brick end stacks with oversailing caps adorned with dentil ornament. The house is two storeys high with an attic.
The entrance consists of a panelled door set in an open timber porch that has a shallow segmental roof and a moulded cornice. There is a straight joint to the left of the porch. On the left side of the house, both the ground and first floors have two casement windows with horizontal glazing bars, which are situated under brick arches. To the right of the door, the ground floor has one sash window with glazing bars, while the first floor features two similar sashes. The attic includes two hipped dormers with casement windows that also have glazing bars.
At the left end of the house, there is a ledged door. The right end has a single-storey attached outbuilding that contains a pair of doors and a single ledged door, both of which have fanlights. Additionally, there is a lean-to at the rear, covered by a slate catslide roof.
