Description

The Sweet Monument is a table-tomb located 4 metres south of the chancel of the Parish Church in Litton Cheney. It dates from the late 17th century and is made of stone, featuring a flat top-block with a round-moulded edge. The tomb has bulbous ends adorned with a skull-and-cross-bones motif. It commemorates Sturmy Sweet, the son of Ellias and Elizabeth Sweet, who died in 1693.
