Description
Springfield is a villa dating to circa 1834. It is part of a group that includes Kent House, Woodville, and the Mariner's Hotel. The north-east facing front of the villa presents three storeys and three window bays. The roof is slate, hipped, and the front is colourwashed. There is a bracketed eaves cornice. The second floor has two windows with four panes each in the reveals, and a blind window at the left-hand end. The first floor features three 19th-century French casements with rectangular lights and tracery above, accompanied by a contemporary balcony. On the ground floor, a modern vehicular entry is centrally located, with sash windows of four panes in reveals at each end. The main entrance is situated on the north-west front, on Hill Road.
