Description

This early to mid-19th century building is located on Silver Street. It is constructed in a classical style and has a hipped slate roof with a bracketed eaves cornice. The front is colourwashed. The building has two storeys and two window bays facing Silver Street, and the same arrangement facing downhill to the southeast. The sash windows retain their original glazing bars.

A flight of five steps, flanked by a handrail, leads to the doorway on the right-hand side of the Silver Street front. The door itself is a 19th-century six-panelled design, with the top two panels glazed, and a moulded cornice supported by brackets.

On the left-hand side of the Silver Street front is a lower, two-storey wing with a hipped slate roof and three window bays. The rear garden front features two southernmost window bays set on a curve; a single window bay is recessed to the north. Further north, a lower two-storey wing of three bays is present, with an outshut built onto the right-hand end. The fenestration of this wing has been partly altered.

The building forms a group with Kent House, Springfield, Woodville, and the Mariner's Hotel.
