Description
The garden wall to West Hill, located on the southwest side of Silver Street, is a Grade II listed structure. This high wall is made of blue lias rubble and runs north of the gateway, extending up Silver Street to the boundary with the Roman Catholic Church of St Michael and St George. It is likely contemporary with the nearby house and is particularly tall at the right-hand end. The garden wall south of the gateway is lower, featuring a rendered surface on the lower part and slurried rubble above, topped with capping. This wall is part of a group that includes The Little Place, the northeast boundary wall of Rosehill, the garden wall of Burley, the Old Vicarage, the former stable block, the garden wall to Burley and the Old Vicarage, West Hill, and the Roman Catholic Church of St Michael and St George, as well as the Dorset Hotel on Pound Road.
