Description

The obelisk, erected in 1835, is a stone monument located 550 meters north-east of Encombe House in Corfe Castle. It has a tapered shape, is square in plan, and features a pyramidal top on a two-stage square base. An inscription on the obelisk honors Sir William Scott, who was created Baron Stowell. The monument is prominently situated on a hill, making it a notable feature in views from the house.
