Description

Hill Farm Cottage, Southways, and the Old Cottage are three attached cottages dating from the 18th century. They feature rubble-stone walls, with the right-hand cottage having rendered stone walls that are washed. The cottages have thatch roofs, with stone gable copings on the right-hand house. There are brick stacks located at the left-hand gable below the ridge of Southways, and at the right-hand center and right-hand gable of the Old Cottage. The buildings are two storeys high and have a total of approximately eight windows. The windows are irregularly arranged, consisting of two and three-light wooden casements with wooden lintels. Southways includes one 19th-century cast-iron casement. The Old Cottage has a central door with three glass lights above it and features a pentice-roofed porch covered with asbestos slates.
