Description
Higher Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse located in Seaborough village. It is constructed of ashlar and rubble-stone walls with a thatched roof, hipped on the left and featuring stone gable-coping on the right. Two brick stacks rise from the right-hand gable and central-right position. The farmhouse has two storeys and originally contained four windows with three- and four-light stone mullions; these now hold 20th-century metal casements with lead lights, each with a separate label above the ground floor. The front door, positioned to the left of centre, is a plank door with thin muntins, dating to the 20th century. Inside, a reset fireplace features a four-centred head and bears the initials “IB, PB” and the date 1628.
