Description
Old Netherhay is a detached farmhouse dating from 1683. It has dressed stone walls with a continuous plinth and a Roman-tile roof with stone gable-copings. There are two brick stacks, one at each gable. The house is two storeys high with attics, and originally had four windows featuring three- and four-light stone mullions with ovolo detail and individual stone labels. The windows have cast-iron casements with lead lights. The front doorway is located to the right of centre and has stone-moulded jambs, a depressed arch set within a square head, and recessed spandrels. The door is a 20th-century plank door with strap-hinges. A rear staircase-well is present, topped with a gable. Attic windows are located in the left-hand gable, and these also have separate labels. Internally, there is a long rear corridor with flagstone flooring. A stone fireplace at the first floor features a Tudor arch, moulded jambs, and recess spandrels.
