Description
The Gardens is a row of four cottages dating probably from the 17th to 18th centuries, situated set back from the road on Acreman Street. Number 1 is located at the south end of the row. The cottages exhibit a symmetrical appearance to their frontages. They are two storeys in height, constructed of stone rubble with a thatched roof that sweeps up over the first-floor windows to create half-dormers. Windows are wood casements with lead glazing. Each cottage has a two-light casement window above the door and a single-light casement window to the left of the door, with a three-light casement window to the right. Cottages number 2 and 4 have ledged doors. Lintels are present above the ground-floor windows and doors. Brick chimneys are also a feature.
