Description
The Gospel Hall, built in 1625, features a gabled front with a recent pebble-dash finish. It has pointed Gothic windows on either side of a stone doorway and is complemented by cast iron railings. The gable includes kneelers and moulded parapet coping, with an oval stone tablet inscribed "Providence Chapel 1838." In front of the chapel, there is a dwarf wall and railings that date from the 19th century. The dwarf wall is made of stone rubble with ashlar coping, while the railings have uprights topped with finials designed with foliate motifs. This building, along with Nos 1, 2 Gospel Hall, Nos 3 to 6 (consecutive), and the garden wall to Pineska in Acreman Street, forms a cohesive group.
