Description
15 and 16 St Edmund Street are a pair of houses at the end of a row, featuring shops, built in the late 18th century or early 19th century. The buildings are rendered with a slate mansard roof and consist of three storeys and an attic, with five windows. The upper levels include segmental-headed and roofed deep six-pane dormers with moulded architraves, above nine-pane windows on the second floor and plain sash windows on the first floor, all set in plain reveals and on stone sills. The ground floor has late 20th-century shop fronts that incorporate two doors with transom lights in the central bay. Architectural details include a plain mid band, a moulded cornice, a blocking-course, and a parapet. Each gable features a very deep rendered stack with incised panels and moulded cappings. The interior has not been inspected.
