Description
Old Downs is a detached house located on Church Street in Bradford Abbas, dating from the late 17th century. The building features coursed rubble-stone walls and slate roofs with gable ends and stone gable copings. It is two storeys high and has four windows with ovolo-moulded wood mullions from the 17th century, which contain iron casements with lead lights. The ground floor has four-light windows, while the first floor has three-light windows. There are reset wood lintels and dripstones above the ground floor windows. To the right of the front door, there is a small square stone window. The front door, positioned to the left of centre, is a plank-and-muntin door that is studded and set in an ovolo-moulded wood frame with a depressed-arch head, also from the 17th century.
