Description
Bridge House is a detached house dating from the early 17th century. It features coursed lias rubble walls and a slate roof with stone gable copings. There are brick stacks at both the left and right gables. The house has two storeys and four windows, which include 3-, 4-, and 5-light stone mullions with a narrow, straight-chamfered section. Each window has returned labels above it. There is a small, blocked 2-light stone window positioned low on the left side. The front door, located to the left of centre, has a Tudor-arch head, moulded jambs, and a returned label above.
Inside, the left room contains a large fireplace with a cambered lintel and a deep-chamfered ceiling beam with square stops. The floors are made of flagstones. The right-hand room features complete early 18th-century panelling, both above and below the dado rail. The fireplace in the rear wing has been completely re-set.
