Description
Cross Farm House is a farmhouse that likely dates from the early 17th century and was altered in the 18th century. It features rubble stone walls with ashlar dressings and a stone slate roof with coped gables. The house has one stone stack at the left end, one brick stack at the right end, and another brick stack to the left of center. It follows a 3-room and cross-passage plan with a rear stair turret and stands two storeys tall.
The entrance has an 18th-century panelled door with a renewed stone lintel. On the ground floor, there are three 4-light stone mullioned windows with hoodmoulds and casements that have a centre horizontal bar. The first floor contains one 4-light and two 3-light similar windows, along with an 18th-century sash window in a stone surround with a keystone located above the door. At the rear, there is a single-storey lean-to that matches the main construction. The interior is not accessible for viewing.
