Description
A terrace of four estate cottages located on Mill Street in Puddletown, dated 1867. The cottages are built with brick walls and ashlar dressings, topped with slate roofs. Brick chimney stacks are positioned towards the ends of the terrace; the left-hand stack remains original, featuring six octagonal shafts with stone bases and caps, while the right-hand stack has been rebuilt in solid brick. The cottages are two storeys high. Each cottage has a ledged door with a fanlight above, although the fanlight on the door of number 21 has been replaced with a part-glazed door. On the ground floor, each cottage has a three-light stone mullioned window protected by a hoodmould and fitted with cast iron glazing. The first floor of each cottage features one two-light and one single-light window in the same style, but without hoodmoulds. The first floor windows of number 19 have been replaced with 20th-century metal casements.
