Description
No. 4 The Square is a cottage in a terrace located in Puddletown. It dates from the 18th century and was enlarged around 1980, although the presence of a cruck post in the rear wall suggests it may have an earlier origin. The building consists of two sections: the left section features plastered walls and a thatched roof, while the right section, which is set slightly forward, has brick walls and a concrete tiled roof. There are brick end stacks, and the cottage is two storeys high. The left section has a 20th-century ledged door, with the ground floor featuring one sash window with glazing bars and the first floor having two casement windows with glazing bars. The right section has one sash window with glazing bars on the ground floor. There is also a late 20th-century extension on the right, which has brick walls and a tiled roof.
